It is a grand surah much greater than its length or the number of its verses. It can be seen as a journey into the unknown, or indeed into a close, visible world that is often overlooked. Almost every verse provides a distinct beat. Thus, this surah concludes, having taken us on a grand tour reaching up to great horizons and profound depths. What will their position be should He will that they be deprived of this most essential life element? They are left to contemplate this unthinkable eventuality, should God will it to happen. All dominion rests in God's hand and He is able to accomplish anything.
They should therefore consider this move carefully if they cannot think of the Day of Judgement as certain. This is something so close and necessary for people's lives.
This verse mentions punishment in this present life in the form of depriving the unbelievers of the most essential thing of life, namely, water.
